10/10/10 One Thing
What made Abraham special?
James 2:23; Gen. 15:1-6; 17
*vs. 2 Abraham was honest with God: when God offered protection Abraham's response was the one thing that mattered to him most. The one thing that if God did not give him would crush him. He trusted God enough to let him know that he was "salty" about not having a child.
* vs. 4 Abraham heard a word from God and believed him. God is looking for those who will believe him for things that it will hurt their feelings if that desire is not met. It is the enemy that takes us to a place of ambivalence (well if it happens, but if not oh well) about our dreams and desires. God wants us to hold on and trust him with our desires as he recognizes that we have them. It takes faith to say I will trust you no matter what and to put it out there rather than allowing the devil to talk us into quieting about it as a sign that we dont quite trust God to meet that desire.
* Abraham and his wife's names were changed and Sarah means pretty young thing (he started singing pyt) and it must have had a whole lot of people looking at Abraham funny to call his wife a pyt at 99 years old but he got a good confession in his mouth about the thing that he was asking from God and spoke it for others to hear.
* God promised that if Abraham would cut some things out of his life (circumcision) that in another year (God put a timeline on himself) he would bless him with a son. At some point, in order to reach our dreams we have to cut away those things that God is requiring of us and separate from unclean things.
I hope that this encourages you as much as it did for me...
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called - his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe in him. Ephesians 1:18-19

Why Not Be Faithful
Aug 21 2010
Why not be faithful
Luke 6:37-38
Malachi 3:6-12
Thanks be to God that he is consistent & faithful. Unlike man. However, God is saying be like him. Sometimes sacrifice is the time when we as humans can be the most inconsistent. Tithe!!! 10%
If u do this u WILL be blessed exceedingly & he will stop the devil from taking the things that belong to u. Malachi 3:11
Not only will the Lord pour out onto you so will men. Things will happen & doors will open if u only do what the Lord asks u to do. Luke 6:37-38
So if all these blessings will manifest upon u, why not tithe? Why not be faithful?
Why church ppl don't tithe:
1) they're not saved. They may attend church but they are living unto their own wills. Saved=committed ur life to the Lord & constantly asking urself wwjd (what would Jesus do).
2) Not totally committed. Worldly minded. 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 We do what we do even tho we know the bible speaks against it. Your life is compartmentalized, church life vs ur real life & the Lord is not incorporated into every part of ur life. A religion instead of a relationship.
3) Believing tithing is not for today. Old testament. However, the new testament says sell EVERYTHING 100% & receive ur blessings in heaven.
4) Don't agree with the leadership of the church.
5) NOT MANAGING MONEY WELL. Debt. Understand the power of a budget.
6) People ate ruled by fear. But the tougher times get the more u can't afford to NOT tithe.
7) Ignorance. Simply don't know. Galations 6:9 2 Corinthians 5:7

I'm going after it!
Aug 8, 2010
Philippians 3:13-15
Anything worth having is worth fighting for. Go HARD after God! Concentrate on going after everything that God said u can have. Have faith! Use your faith to acquire what God has for you. Can't be lazy! Proverbs 24:10 Do not fail in the day of adversity. Stay strong! If your not growing in maturity you can't help someone else move to the next level. Establish order in your life & be courageous. Galatians 4:16 you need someone that will keep u on your toes & motivated, telling u the truth. KEEP YOUR EXPECTATIONS HIGH! Think & talk positive. Stay around positive encouraging people.

Put Your Foot On It

Deuteronomy 11: 22-25
2Corinthians 1:20
The foundation of our relationship with God is based on a promise. All the promises made to us shall be fulfilled. Because of who he is, he is obligated to bring it to pass. Bound by his word. When God gives u something, u may not earn it or deserve it but you possess it b/c it is what God has for you. A possession is something that is entrusted, u must go after it at times to acquire it. You have to make the first step. But you can't stay where u are and get everything he promised. It's one thing for him to make u a promise but sometimes you have to get up (spiritually) & go after it. TAKE ACTION! There are some things that he has for you & at some point u should be tired of not living up to ur potential & want to get up & go after it. Don't be a punk in the spirit, don't be a sucker! Get up & go for it!! At times I must "SAY IT BEFORE U SEE IT". What he says is slot more real than what u see. Learn how to call those things to be not as they were. Timing is everything.
Follow these instructions will release what u desire:
1. Remember what u came through so that you can appreciate what you have & where you are.
2. Resolve. Keep the commandments.
3. Go in & possess the land. Your disobedience a lot of times is what keeps you from everything that you desire.
4. Let nothing turn us aside. Remain focused. Refuse to back up!
5. Receive. You can have it "sweat-less-ly" if u follow these things.
"God gives YOU things for HIS glory. For u to use as a witnessing tool. You get the job, but u won't pay your tithes. You get a car, but u won't come to church. You got a house, but u won't have people over. "
God u made u a promise & you can have whatever u want if you obey his word.

Have u ever been in a state of mind that says, " well I'm not doing bad but I'm not necessarily doing good either". "I'm not where I usedyt to be but I'm not where I should be". The in between phase. In the phase we need to be careful that we do not lose our desire or passion & just go through the motions. Don't lose track of ur power source. Act 2:38 Learn how to stir up the spirit inside of u. Sometimes you can't stir it up yourself, some times need to get with someone else who already has the fire.

Meet them where they are
Pastor Marvin Sapp

We live in a season where our young ppl feel hopeless. No fear, no drive, no respect.
Acts 3:1-10
In this passage: A man was at the church door, everyday they brought him to church... 40 years, but no one cared enough to bring him into the church. The church ppl daily walked past him.
This is what we do to our children. Drop them off at the doorway to deliverance but we don't take them in.
Peter & John were stopped by a man who needed change. It didn't say that they picked the man up or drug him to church or told him we are gonna get into the church around saints where we can deal with your issues. They assisted the man right where he was. This is what we need to do. "Meet them where they are." Peter said, "look at us"...in other words, before u can have what I got, you have to listen to what I have to say. Then he spoke to him on his level, "..where he was." Be relevant to that nation in order to make impact. They took this man by the right hand & empowered him. (the right hand is the hand of authority). Once the man got up he followed them into the church.

Steps to Starting Over
Fathers Day
Pastor William Cain (Dallas TX)
Genesis 49
Genesis 50:15-21
Steps to Starting Over
Anytime you come to a place where u are more dependent on God than other ppl shows that God had to get you alone & undistracted so that he can speak to you. Count it a blessing.
The story of Joseph in Genesis displays that he went through alot in his life but everytime he was raised back up. Joseph was able to keep his heart right through it all. Any tme we engage with God we must come whole heartedly.
Proverbs 3:3-4
Proverbs 22:1
1) Renew your repretation.
A reputation is more valuable than material things that you may have. Outlive your past, don't allow condemnation seperated you from your destiny. You can't recover from your past if you keep repeating your past. You must be determined to leave it alone. If you give up what's in your hands the Lord will give up what's in his hands. Everyone who wants to remind you that your still the same person, let them know. If you don't let them know who u are, they will let you know who you are.
"What people believe about you will determine what they are able to recieve from you."
2) Break the strong holds
Expose & address the things that hold your mind & your actions, for they keep you from what God has for you. Have a healthy word life b/c your behavior is a healthy represention of what you believe. Ecclesiastics 4:9-12
Accountability = I may mess up by myself but I'll think twice if I know that you know I'm messing up. 1 will put 1,000 angels to flight but 2 will put 10,000 angels to flight. Don't allow the enemy to sew the seeds of negativity into your thought life. Your old mindsets are not compatible with your future. 2Corinthians 10 Crucify your mind.
3) Understand that deliverance is dangerous.
A sprit cast out comes back with 7 more over. Meaning once u deliver yourself from something & you go back to it your making it more powerful over you the nxt time to ensure that you won't go back to God
4) Uograde your surroundings
Where ever your getting ready to go everyone in your present must be authorized to go forth through to your future.
The situations in your life are not there to make you bitter but to make you better.

The Road We Travel
10:35pm
June 19 2010
MIchigan
Traveling the highway passenger side. The sky is clear, all but one star in the sky. Immediate I'm drawn & lose ficus of what I was previously doing. Diligently researching, worrying, & questioning the fate of humanity as we know it & as the bible reads. All at once I'm overcome with various emotions one after another. The star sways from the far right of the front windshield all the way to the left. Could it be the winding of the road before us? Never the less, I pray a sinners prayer. I pray a selfless prayer. I pray an annointment fullfilled. Thanking God. Before I can absorb it, words form in my mind. I'm lead to share it. As follows:
..And just like that, a moment of clarity. My guardian angel is present & speaks a language only I can understand. <3 God is Love. Peace. "A star brightly shining" ..Thank You :)
A feeling of peace & reassurance follows as I stare at the star in the sky unable to look away. So from my heart to yours.
I'm awake..

Not Fear, Praise!
March 28 2k10
Not Fear, Praise!
Mark 4:35-41
James 1:2-5
How many of u are in a situation that you don't want to be in & your wondering how your going to make it? Not just a one day storm, but perhaps a 6 day storm. Chapters in ur life that if it were up to u, u would not have those chapters written in ur book of life. James 1 Look at ur situtuation as if the door is open & your prayer has been answers. How would u act? You would praise! Praise is an act of will. You don't have to feel good to praise him. Some of the best praise u do is the praising when you shout during the bad times. Decide to praise the Lord through your storm & dont allow fear to grip you. Thank him for the challenges not just the good things. A gunuine joy. You can really see what type of foundation you have when the storm comes. Can u make it to the end of something that's needed even when it doesn't make u happy. God is not only concerned about u being happy but about u being complete & mature. Therefore when your time comes you will have the tools that you need for your next level that God has for u.
A joy that circumstances can't change.
You know your immature when you only want good stuff. When someone has to TELL you to eat your vegitables.
Some people just want the pleasure but are not concerned about the price. After the meal do you ask, "how much did that cost?"
It's funny how you can go without when it's your money that has to be spent. Everything will not always be easy. Some things have a price.
James1:5
"Wisdom", will change the way u see your trial.
You should laugh when ur car is stolen!! Laugh when everyone at your job is getting laid off. Cuz ur faith is being tested. Come out the other side stronger. If u dint understand ask the Lord to show you why u should be laughing. When fear grabs you it can make u forget that the Lord has gotten u thru a similar situation before. Maybe u didn't handle the situation appropriately before but he brought u out in spite of.
Reasons to praise:
1) Understand where the trial came from. Mark 4:35 vs the story of Jonah.
There's a difference between a storm that comes at the will of God & a storm that comes due to disobedience.
Some time the storm is here to let u know that your on the path of something serious. The greater your storm the greater the blessing that's in store on the other side. Some times storms come b/c u are obedient. Then u know your on the right path.
2) Understand he cares. Mark 4:38
3) Understand he is here with me. Rejoice b/c u are not by yourself.
If the Lord is alright with ur trial, u be alright with ur trial.
If u let fear rule u. It will rule the bad time & the good times. Ex. Not wanting to tell people the good news b/c ur afraid that you will jinx your situation. Knocking on wood.
We need to see things in our life the way God sees them.
Not Fear, Praise!

His Mind
WOCC
His mind
1 Corinth. 2:14-16; Is. 55:8-9
thinking and believing determine your actions
God's ways (actions) are higher because thoughts are higher
1 Corinth. 1:20-21
God is going to give power to "foolish" things (simple) in order to blow the worlds' mind
22: (Jews=church folks) look for signs (Greek=the world) looks for intelligience
23: the crucifixition is a stumbling block to church folks and foolishness to the heathens
25: you cant handle the power of God without the wisdom of God (i.e. thats the reason that we cant heal the blind or the lame, or even turn water into wine)
God looks for "long shots" someone everyone else counted out or said would never be anything to shame the strength of man because even in God's weakest day he has more strength than man.
I have to want God's mind in order to operate his power the way that he would
We have to reach a place where we read the scripture and look at the action of God and ask ourselves what was he thinking? and do I think that way? b/c as Christians we have the mind of Christ.
to learn God's thoughts we have to deduce it from his actions
Examples:
1. Gen. 17:3-5; 32:22-28
His action: changing names (he had Jacob say his name in order for him to identify where he was right then Jacob means cheat; liar)
His thoughts: people and things are affected by what they are called and in order to change your situation he has to change you mane because that name is not enough to define you and he is not a God that will leave you the way you are because he wants to change your destiny. Ask God what you new name is...
2. John 8:1-11
His action: he kept someone from having to pay for thier sins
His thought: Im going to give this person a second chance (mercy is just as powerful as judgement)

No More Jars
John 4:28-29
Christ encounter moves you from indiscretion to influence
the fastest way to promotion is to exert influence
when you feel alone its because he is moving others away so that he can communicate with you and you can hear him
the woman from the passage entire journey shifted after encounter with Jesus
the woman avoided others (it was the practice for the woman to go early in the morning to fill their water jars and she went alone at the hotest point in the day which indicates that she was ostricized maybe because of her many excursions with the men of the town)
1. Jesus presented her with a different kind of water (water represents life flowing to abundance) life: active exchange (God placed an agent in you that activates in adversity)
2. he offered a different source (if the enemy can cut off your source he can beat you i.e. in today's time in combat the enemy will cut off communication in those times they would cut off the regions water supply by dropping rocks in a well or levying the river or stream) God wants to install a spring in you (a spring is difficult to see but you can hear it, it never stops running, and it does not adjust its flow for anything)
3. he changed her (producer) he gave her the ability to move from consumer to producer (if you drink enough water eventually you will have to go to the bathroom and let it out and "holding" it changes your behavior) he wants to get enough of the Spirit inside you that you have to let it out.

The Power of ONE
Pastor Brian
The Power of ONE
Acts 20:32-35; John 4:43-54
He told a story about his pregnant wife beginning to have contractions and how he kind of meandered around until she yelled that it was time to PUSH!!! He said all he needed was that one word to get moving in order to try and get her to the hospital before the baby came (he said he envisioned the martin scene where the baby popped out and he had to catch it)
Peter walked across the water with one word from Jesus: COME
If Peter could walk on water with one word what can we achieve with the whole Bible?
The Power of 1 word:
it is spoken to you in order for you to be a vessel to be spoken Thur you.
1 John 5:14-15
-we have to take him at his word (and we have to act on that)
-take our eyes off our situation so God can then bless our situation. God is looking for empty vessels to pour into (2 Kings 4) (he talked about when he lived in an apt and wanted a house and it wasn't until he began to pray for others who wanted a home that God then blessed him with a home the next week)
-spend more time focused on what you can do for others?
How to influence others (refocusing our energy) John 4:4-42 ( he said that this is one of the most specific instances where we see Jesus ministering and it is important to take note of what he did)
1-be bothered: we have to be willing to be involved with others and their problems
2-be bold: (vs. 9) be willing to cross (racial, gender, orientation) barriers; willing to be different
3-be relational: (vs. 7) be willing to establish relationships with people; get to know them
4-be relate able: make an effort to understand them and get them to understand you; be willing to be around 'sinners'
5-be lead: let God lead your path; he leads those who are his sons and daughters; God wont set you up to fail; he wont lead you wrong if you follow him and you wont have to worry about whether it will work; take a step and stop waiting for a leap
6-be doing: saying and acting
7-be living: be an example; live what you say; lead by example "at all times preach and if necessary use words"
For the settled

Gen. 17:15-18
Phil. 1:6 God is the author and finisher (what happens in the middle is up to you)
Rev. 8
-When you are between your present situation and the promises that God made you.
-There are 2 responses: you can hide or fight
-Doubt is a part of humanity and it is a daily struggle-it is our ability to overcome it that enables us to move forward
-Operating outside of God's promise disqualifies you for God's provision
-God has a set promise_a set plan_and in that is set provisions
-God calls you what you are becoming (the trick of the devil is to focus you on who you are now and what you have now)
-He tells the story about one of his grandmothers who he would ask for a cake and she would use Betty Crocker and bake it up right then, but his other grandmother would tell him to come back next week because she would make it from scratch and it took longer. He talked about how much better it tasted and the anticipation that came along with the cake. God doesn't do Betty Crocker (but we can settle for the world's imitation and be satisfied) his blessings come from scratch
-God does not place his manifest power on just anyone: only those who climb mountains can have God's manifest power because you are prepared to handle it.
-Faith is spelled R I S K
-Abraham wanted God to bless him with the promise using what he already had (Ismael)
-the problem is that where your gifts are is where you will lodge your faith and where
you will lodge your faith the next time
-You cant cheat God! Your set provision comes with your set plan and you have to walk that out. (God gives you a size 8 faith expectation when you only wear a size 3 because you are growing into it and he wants you to get adjusted to what you have coming)
-Rom. 4:18-21 We are glory machines and we manufacture glory. God requires that we give him glory. He doesn't destroy our enemies because he hates them. He destroys them because he loves us so much so if they curse us then he will curse them. He will make the sun stay in the sky an hour longer or the rivers run upstream to get to us because he LOVES us that much.
Learning Love
2/21/10 Learning Love
Mark 12:28-31; 1 John 4:7-11, 16-21
Men struggle with love and is the reason there are so many wars
Everyone has the capacity for love it is learning how to express/show it
1. Love is a God thing. (he is the originator) 1 John 4:7
-emotion (like a mother for her child)- comes from God
2. Love is proof of salvation (vs. 8)
-ex. in a Holiness Church proof of salvation was whether you were/looked holy
-salvation is all about love (vs. 9)
3. His love makes us love. (vs. 10-11)
4. We rely on his love (1 Corinth. 4- God judges based on our motives and not our actions)
5. We have to live in love (vs. 16)
-if I am in him and he lives in me then I have to live in what he is=love
6. Love is incomplete until you love someone else (vs. 17)
-if you love God and he loves you it is incomplete until it has passed between the two
of you to someone else
-gives us a confidence for our final resting place
-b/c God loved us in such an unlovable state we should be able to give that same love
to the most unlovable people
7. Loves moves fear (drives it out) (vs. 18)
-I'm a conduit to which love flows
-fear is based in punishment
8.Loving God=loving people (vs. 20-21)
-Matt. 22:36-40 (these 2 commandments are the big and little joker in a deck of cards
playing spades of course! To love God trumps all!
-and the challenge lies in loving someone the way that you want to be loved in that
same situation (i.e. tipping a waiter how you would want to be tipped if you were on
the other side of the table.
Patient Life
2/14/10 Patient Life
Is. 40:1; 27-31
Col. 1:9-14
-a good parent raises patient children
(he said that because he is talking about what life really is and living an abundant life and because parents are the source of our lives he is giving practical parenting messages. He also said that we can use all of these in a spiritual relationship in our walk with God our father and what he does with us.)
-How do I raise patient children?
1. Put them on a schedule (structure, routine)
-break their will, not their spirit (the quicker they learn to submit to your will the
easier it will be to submit to the will of God when they are older)
-we struggle with God because he puts structure in our lives and we (flesh) fight it
2. Know when to remove improper pleasant stimuli
3. Understand the nature of crying
-crying starts as communication
-once they can communicate it should only be used as a sign of pain (any other
crying is: manipulation, frustration, anger, or rebellion- it is inappropriate)
4. Make them wait intentionally (teach them their place)
Monday, February 8, 2010
Patience: You have to wait
2/7/10 Patience: You have to wait
Ps. 27:1-3; 13-14
Is. 40:27-31
Source of counsel:
1) Holy Ghost
2) Word of God
-the separation of church and state pushes an unspiritual life on us. We have to push spiritual life back in-LIFE( life was meant to be all parts together). The world wants to believe in humanity.
-Cultural dissimlation: the enemy causes the kingdom to appear/be different form the culture of the generation which causes you to war with Gods culture. So ultimately, you are forced to choose between the two and most end up following the culture of the generation. (God never intended fore you to have a Bible because he intended to walk with you in the cool of the day and give you instruction like he did with Adam and Eve.)
-In God's economy: patience and waiting bring power
-the culture has made it unpopular to be patient or wait for anything.
Power
2. run and not grow weary; walk and not faint:
-patience creates endurance
-consistency with the understanding that you will get stronger over time(day 1 (of waiting): you will get weary but with the belief that by day 10, 15, 50 it will be better.)
-the Lord would rather you be strong than happy (he would rather you be strong and broke than rich and weak)
1. soar on wings like eagles
-patience enables you to fly (fly rather than run or walk)
-it enables to you avoid obstacles and challenges
-and reach places that you could not
-you will deal with things that running/driving that you would not if you flew (ex. the connection flight from charlotte to raleigh has been delayed: you can rent a car and drive the 2 and a half hours or wait 10 more min. and take a flight that will take you only 30min.)
-strong careers have to be built
-patience comes from parents (those who make you wait on things)

Success
Success
Ps. 1:1-3; Is. 1:18-20
God wants to reason with us- have a discussion; for us to use our brain
God said it, I believe it, that settles it! You have to believe in order for the promises of God to settle in your life
vs. 19-I'll make you successful
God makes promises that you have to believe and then act in accordance with that promise (there is a big "if" which is based on your actions)
the fight with our willing: what I want to do vs. what I have to do (these should line up) i.e. you should want to be saved as much as your have to be saved. "have" will only take you so far.
obedience: to act without question
resistance leads to rebellion
Jer. 17:7-8 these trees prosper because they gain their water from the streams that are never ending and constantly flowing, and are not waiting on "showers of blessings."
How do I become willing (get my will to a place where I want to do what I have to do)?
1. doesnt walk in the counsel of the wicked
counsel: a)advice, b)purpose(careful not to allow the wickedness of the culture to determine our purpose
2. dont stand in the way of sinners
way: a)path or road (shouldnt be in the wrong places) b)habit or manner (doing what heathen do)-these will rob you of your willingness
3. dont sit in the seat of mockers/scornful
seat: a)sitting with people who are "haters" who mock and are resistant of change b)assembly- group of people around you who put down you or what you believe c)dwelling place-dont live like they live d)situation-it is difficult to live holy in unholy situations
4. delight in his word: you wont read the bible if you dont like it. Your inner man is starving for the word.
5. meditation: a)mutter or talk to yourself- needs to be positive self-talk (dont answer yourself) b)divise, plot, imagine,scheme- you need to see your own success that the things that you touch prosper.

Better Detergent
1/24/10 Pastor Algee Better Detergent
Jer. 2:22; Heb. 10:14-22; Ps. 51:1-10
-God's plan was to walk without guilt or condemnation/ without fear
-Ps. 51- David's guilt over the situation with Bathsheeba
-guilt stains; it replays in our minds over and over again because of the way that we are programmed; can be permanent
-a trap is laid by the enemy when we sin
-sin leaves a damaging stain
-the new covenant allows us to wash away sins which didnt take place under the old covenant (God took account of sins)
-How God washes away our stains
1. "I will not remember your sins." and writes the laws in our hearts (Heb.10:17)
2. Jesus defeated satan, sin death, and the curse when he went into hell.
3. He took away deception (things that appeared to be a good time you can now see for what it really is and the sinful destruction that it causes)
4. Recreates our spirit on the inside- washed us with rebirth and renewed us with the Holy Spirit
5.Washes away what I used to BE (not just the things that I did): there is no longer a past identity (1Corinth. 6:9-11)
6. The word washes-when limitations creep up-read the word so that the deception will become clear
7. Jesus washed us in his blood (Rev. 1:5)

I believe I'll testify
1/20/10 Pastor Nate "I Believe I'll Testify"
John 3:31-35; Heb. 10:35-39
What do I do while I'm waiting (on my testimony)?
1. You need a qualified witness- Jesus is the only qualified witness to what he has seen and that is God is truth (witness of the Earth is the devil)
2. Be a person of faith: "I must learn to function without the sense (sight) that I use the most." (the enemy can mess with your sight, but not what God has placed inside of you
3. "No" is not always a bad thing: there is always something better if God is telling you no to something. (Don't complain while you are waiting)
4. A promise ALWAYS trumphs a fact (Heb. 11:11-12)
5. Believers will be birthed: Who are your "faith" descendants? Who is watching your faith?
6. Take him at his word (Ps. 119:49-50; 51-56) My promises will create a new song in me
7. You want to the Lord to make an example out of you (Deut. 9:25-29) Request that God do it for his namesake so that he does not look bad or like a lousy parent.

Faith of our Farhers
1/17/10 Faith of our Fathers
Eph. 6:1-3; Gen. 1:26-28; 2:7
One of the challenges of creation is the corruption of the original intention
God gave life as a gift
We battle now as Christians to regain God's original intent by sacrifices such as going to church (he originally intended to just be with us constantly like Adam and Eve in the garden) (originally flesh wasnt bad b/c he called it all good)
The power to create life was placed in humans
We were spiritual in the beginning and forfeited that right with our disobedience
Parents are the source of faith
the faith we learned from our parents is hard to shake (he asked everyone whose parents went to church to stand and almost everyone was standing)
How do I teach children faith?
1. live it and be honest when ou mess up
2. teach children the Bible basics (heroes, stories, scriptures) (play a stronger role in thier education
Lords Prayer
Psalm 23 and John 3:16
David, Abraham, Moses(Red Sea)
3. help them memorize scriptures (2-4 a year)
4. Pray for and with your child (hear them pray)
5. Love: unconditional love with relational conditions (reward and punishment)
God guides us with rewards
he loves us unconditionally but wont allow us to do any old thing (make them go to church)

The source of life
1/10/10
The source of life
Gen. 1:26-28; 2:7
John 1:1-5; 6:63
What does God (the author of life) think about what we are doing with our lives? (ex. American Idol and a song writer or singer listening to someone butcher thier song) Is it the way that he intended for it to be or are we jacking it up?
Life comes from the entire Trinity in different forms: God the father-physical life; God the son- everlasting life; God the holy spirit-spiritual life
If you want the real thing you have to go to the source
Life abundantly comes from the Trinity
God the father: physical life
God put power into all of his living creation giving it the power to reproduce from the tiniest bacteria to the largest elephant with us in between.
Our parents are the source of our lives
The (7:purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, wisdom) parts of life are supposed to transmitted to us from our parents
Parents and purpose: If you dont feel that you have a purpose or you dont know what it is
then your parents failed you.
1. Planning parenthood: Males-where are you putting your seed? Females-where did your
seed come from? (There is a power in the ability to reproduce that God has given us and
he will not take that away. i.e. males who have children with females that are "hoes"
have created a "hoe" and females who recieve seed from a man in jail whose father is
in jail now has "jail" seed.) How is my seed being nurtured? Why did I produce?
2. Knowing your purpose: Children follow thier parents footsteps and have to be taught what
to do (children in the past were trained to do what thier parents did-even now if children
decide to do something other than what thier parents do they have a sense of purpose so
you are supposed to allow them to see what you do)
3. Creating wealth for them: children are supposed to be started off better than you
(inheirtance) its tough to get rich without a head start (he used a visual example: he
started by explaining that he did not think he would reach real wealth in his lifetime but as
a father he is supposed to save for his daughter and sons. He used the stage and stood
on 1 side and took 4 steps and stated that wealth was on the other end. He used his
daughter and stated that if she started off from where he started that she could reach
wealth in her lifetime.) where would you be if your parents left you with a house and a car
that are paid for? what about if you had no tuition to pay? Parents are supposed to leave
thier children in a better place than themselves.

Faith, Hope, & Love
1/6/10 Faith, Hope, and Love
Hebrews 11:1-2; 1 Corinth 13:8-13
Faith is the under girding, substance, foundation, confidence that hope sits on. It is when we no that what we are believing God for is going to happen no matter what the circumstances are, what people say, or whatever else happens. The combination of hope and faith are unshakeable.
You can have hope without faith.
Love trumphs both hope and faith and as Christians a lot of times we have forgotten that and our faith has led to wars and killing others instead of showing them the love that God so frequently asks us to show in his word.
Reasons that hope is still important when it is just hope:
1. (Rom. 8:24-25) hope is the key to salvation.
2. (Heb. 6:19-20) hope is the anchor for my soul (emotions).
3.(1 John 3:2-3) hope motivates- causes us to purify ourselves as well as the purification that God does on the inside of us.
We are to put childish things away: the idea that anything will be perfect while we are here or try to view things in a way that it is not what it really is (nothing is perfect while we are here and we only have a glimpse because of our sinful nature. God's understanding as well as prophecy can only be revealed in part and we as Christians have to listen to shepherds, prophets, and teachers with that fact in mind)

Life that is truely life
12/31/09
Life that is truly life Rom. 8:9-11; Phil. 3:12-15
The greatest promise God ever made to us was abundant, everlasting life.
2 Tim. 6:11-12;13-20
Jesus died to atone for our sins and was raised to give us life (salvation was to give us life)
The good fight of faith is to take hold of eternal life which is the reason he took hold of you
God is determined to give us life
1. He loves me (John 3:16)
2. The purpose of Jesus (John 10:10)
3. Life is Gods testimony (1 John 5:9-12)

Who defined life for you? Were they right? (once you have had the real thing everything else is an imposter ex. philly cheesesteak from philadelphia) and yes all of his analogies except one had to do with food.
Life is a lesson-Pauls Godly life Def. of real life
1. Purpose: direction and meaning. purpose in life will protect you from danger b/c you have a reason to do things or not to. w/out vision people perish; you can have purpose w/out money and still have satisfaction
2. Faith: belief in what you dont see; requirement for life (the very ability to operate in your everyday life require faith); you have to have a belief in someone other than yourself.
3. Patience: wait;ability to delay gratification (this is the point when he sang ice cream paint job and talked about the importance of being able to put things off)
4. Love: he used Whitney as example of how she did not love herself and ruined her voice b/c she loved drugs more.
5. Endurance: the ability to make it to the end. When you begin a task focus on what the outcome is and dont stop until you reach it. (ex. marriage)
6. Persecution and Suffering: evil things are going to be said about you- not just an aspect of what real life is, but all life just how you deal with it.
7. (vs. 14) wisdom: there is a difference b/t what you have learned and what you are convinced of. wisdom allows you to be taught, rebuked (correction w/ the acceptance of being wrong); wisdom is more powerful than riches and blessings
Life that is truly life Rom. 8:9-11; Phil. 3:12-15
The greatest promise God ever made to us was abundant, everlasting life.
2 Tim. 6:11-12;13-20
Jesus died to atone for our sins and was raised to give us life (salvation was to give us life)
The good fight of faith is to take hold of eternal life which is the reason he took hold of you
God is determined to give us life
1. He loves me (John 3:16)
2. The purpose of Jesus (John 10:10)
3. Life is Gods testimony (1 John 5:9-12)
