Your hope should be built on more than just an emotional feeling. Christmas is coming up & weather you feel "christmasy" or not if u look to your calendar it will say Christmas is December 25th & it's almost here. The bible is as such for believers. There ate promises in the bible that God made to us & weather ur feeling the spirtit of God at the moment or not those things will still come to pass.

Don't get to used to our easy buttons because we may become to lazy to put in work towards the covenants in our life. (such as marriage). Technology has moved us to a place where we are all used to things being easy. Over time that can cause us to lose our ability to do the hard things & there are some things that only come with work. 
 
Genesis 17:1-2
The benefit of covenant is worth the challenge. Abrahams covenant belongs to you because you are the seed of Abraham (saved).
Genesis 17:4
Be the father of many nations= the Lord is going to give u something u cannot imagine.
Kings come from you= you will affect government. Influence. Able to leave in the regular world not jus the church/spiritual world
Genesis17:5
He changes your name=changes ur nature (generational curses) & the way people see u.
Genesis17:6
Fruitfulness= what u touch grows. The other person may fail but not you.
Genisis 17:7
For generations= blessings will outlive you. You may have a blessing on your life right now because of a covenant that your grandmother made with the Lord. 
Genesis 17:8
Canaan= land. Posssssion. Permanence. Blessings in the land. (wealth = power; ever person in the bible that did a work for the Lord were wealthy including Jesus. He started rich & It was through his poverty that we could be wealthy).

I will be their God = relationship with 
God

Genesis 17:9-10
Circumcision = sacrafice 
For men the idea of someone coming close to ur personal area with a knife is laughable cuz you don't even wjat a zipper that close alot of times). For some the pricec seems to high. Change the way wevsee sacrafice in an effort to not miss out on our blessings.
